Frequently Asked Questions And the answers!
What do I need to get started in the p-Card program? Follow this link to our application document page. You will need to return the documents A –E along with three years of audited financials to your state ASBO.
What is the rebate going to be? That is not an easy question to answer because it varies yearly and is individual to each district. The rebate is based on what tier the ENTIRE program ends up at on April 30. The tiers are negotiated with the Bank and are based on volume, and grace period (7, 14 or 21 days). Illinois ASBO receives the rebate minus fraud insurance in late May. Illinois ASBO gives each state their rebate to distribute. Illinois ASBO distributes the Illinois school district rebates in June. The amount you receive depends on your overall volume and your grace period. As a rule, since the program is growing, you can assume you will receive at least what you received last year. Hopefully, you will receive more. If you have questions about your past rebate amounts you can contact Holly Wallace at 815.753.9083 or by email

How do I know what my credit limit should be?
At a minimum, your credit needs to be $10,000 to participate in the program. You do not need to spend that much in the beginning and will not be penalized if you do not, BUT you need to make a commitment to grow the program to that level. Take your average monthly expenses and deduct 70%. The balance should be what you should put down. Starting small is fine, just leave room to expand. If the credit line is too low to start with you want to up the overall credit limit, you will need to go through the credit check process again – that can take a few weeks.
